Judging Criteria

Scoring will be made up of three categories; synchronized skiing, dynamic skiing, and roundness/symmetry/line of descent. Each category will be scored with a possible fifteen (10) points. Judges will score resulting in a total possible score of 30. Ties will be determined by the Head Judges Score.

The Powder 8 teams that advance to the second day will be reseeded based on their scores from the elimination rounds.

Synchronization relates to the skiing and turning behavior of both partners between the start and finish line. The movements of each partner must be made in time with each other, both from the perspective of front to back and side to side.

Dynamic Skiing relates to the utilization of the skis design through powerful efficient movements. The greater the dynamics the faster, round turns are achieved.

Roundness/symmetry/line of descent is a marriage of three elements to direct an overall straight path from start to finish with the use of consistently round turns.

Start Procedure; red course ready, blue course ready, “GO”.
